We are thrilled to be a recipient of a Northern Rivers Community Foundation Grant.  We look forward to putting our new kitchen equipment to use, in conjunction with the Ballina Hot Meal Centre, in preparing over 300 substantial and wholesome meals twice a week to serve to the homeless, disadvantaged, lonely and people doing it tough from Ballina and surrounding districts

The Department of Communities and Justice NSW Community Building Partnership Program awards grants for community infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes while also promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion.

In 2025, the total value of the Community Building Partnership program is $41.85 million.

Successful applications were decided by the NSW Premier.  The relevant State Member of Parliament (MP) assessed the eligible applications in their electorate on how they address the 4 equally weighted assessment criteria:

1. Enhancing facilities: the project develops a sustainable, and inclusive community.
2. Meeting community needs and increasing community participation: the project supports activities and services needed by local communities and encourages community participation.
3. The organisation’s capacity: the applicant has the capacity to deliver the project on time and within scope.
4. Demonstrating value for money: the project delivers value for money when assessing its lifetime benefits against its lifetime costs.
